Use the Scribeless Attio app to send direct mail from Attio into existing Scribeless campaigns. After the app is installed, your team can choose a Scribeless campaign from a person record, review the mailing details, and create a Scribeless recipient without leaving Attio.
Before you start, make sure you have:
An Attio user with permission to install and configure workspace apps.
A Scribeless account with an API key for the team you want Attio to use.
At least one Scribeless campaign already created. The Attio app adds recipients to an existing campaign; it does not create campaigns or templates for you.
People records with the address fields needed for your campaign.
Install and connect the app
Install Scribeless from Attio's app directory or from the app link shared by Scribeless. After installation, open Settings > Workspace > Apps > Installed > Scribeless.
Open the Connections tab and connect the workspace to Scribeless with your Scribeless API key. The API key decides which Scribeless team and campaigns Attio can use.
Scribeless validates the key during setup. If the key is rejected, create or copy a fresh API key from Scribeless and try again.
Configure field mapping
Open the Settings tab for the installed Scribeless app. Field mapping applies to the whole Attio workspace, so changes affect every user of the app.
The default mapping uses Attio's standard People fields where possible:
Name maps to first name and last name.
Company maps to the associated company.
Primary location maps to address, city, state or region, postal code, and country code.
Required fields are marked in the settings page and must be present before Scribeless can create a recipient. If your workspace stores mailing data in custom People attributes, choose those attributes from the dropdowns.
Configure campaign and attribution defaults
The Default campaign field can preselect the campaign that opens in the send form. Users can still choose a different campaign before sending.
The Campaign defaults section lets you prefill Scribeless campaign variables such as Custom 1. The send form only shows variables used by the selected Scribeless campaign, so unused defaults stay hidden.
The Analytics and attribution section controls extra recipient variables that are sent to Scribeless but not shown in the send form. By default, Attio email address and Attio domain are included for reporting, attribution, and downstream matching. The Attio record ID is always sent as the Scribeless external ID.
To clear an optional default, set its dropdown back to No default. To stop sending an attribution variable, turn off the relevant toggle or remove the extra variable default.
Troubleshooting
If the app does not load campaigns, check that the connected Scribeless team has at least one usable campaign and that the API key belongs to the correct team.
If a required field is blank in the send form, update the Attio person record or adjust the workspace field mapping.
If the app action does not appear on a person record, confirm the app is installed, the workspace connection is active, and you are viewing a People record rather than another object.
